Mr. Wittner took up preaching two years ago after suffering a slight heart attack and told Chilton Baptist preacher (?) Bratcher he wanted to die in the pulpit. Sunday morning he collapsed from a heart attack while preaching in the church and died on the way to Marlin Hospital.

A brief service will be held in Wilkirson and Hatch Chapel at 3 p.m. Monday, followed by services at 4 p.m. at the Cottonwood Baptist Church. Burial will be in Cego Cemetery.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Lola Wittner, a teacher at La Vega; his father, Frank Wittner of Cego, and a brother, Julius Wittner of Chilton.
